Class 10 Year 3 2017 - 2018

Mr Waterworth

Mr Waterworth

Hello and welcome to Class 10's webpage.  I'm Mr Waterworth and I'm the class teacher in Year 3, class 10.

This half term we will be exploring 'What did the Romans do for us?'  We will be investigating The Celts, timelines, their way of life and of course, the invasion.  The children will have the chance to research, use atlases and learn from a real Roman when we visit Chester.

Our maths will concentrate on measuring and fractions.  The children will use measuring equipment and learn how to convert from cms to mm.  We will also use measure larger areas; like the playground.

During RE we will learn all about how we Celebrate Mass and how The Last Supper relates to this.  The children will learn what happens during mass and write their own prayers.  We will look at The cure of the centurion's servant and discuss what happened during the story.

PE will be on a Wednesday afternoon - please ensure the children have the correct PE kit in school at all times.  The children will need an outdoor PE kit too as we begin our athletics learning on the school field.

Homework will come home on Friday's and will need to be completed by the following Wednesday - please look inside the covers to see which pages you need to complete with your children.  There will also be spellings to learn each week - these will come home on a Monday and will be tested on a Friday.

Please, please, please encourge your children to read each night and leave a comment in their reading diaries.  They will need these books everyday, as the children read everyday in class.

There is so much more to tell you, but I will write a short newsletter each week to keep you up to date.

If you have any questions, please get in touch,

Mr Chris Waterworth
